Vision Statement

Our service is committed to being a leader in university investigations through excellence, innovation, continuous learning and staff development, quality leadership, and management.

We are committed to deliver investigation services, which are sensitive to the needs of our university community, involving collaborative partnerships and teamwork to overcome all challenges.

The Investigation section acts solely as a fact-finder and does not make disciplinary decisions or recommendation. The Investigation section relies on university rules and regulations, criminal law to define illegal and inappropriate conduct and rules of investigation. We are committed to remaining independent and removed from the disciplinary process as to ensure a fair, thorough investigation process.

Core Services

Investigation of allegations of misconduct, crime, damage and misuse of university resources or assets.

The Investigation section conducts investigation when there are legitimate allegations of misconduct by University of KwaZulu-Natal staff and/or students, contract staff, service providers and visitors to the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

The Investigations section investigates and helps resolve complaints relating to allegations of staff and/or student misconduct, breach in university rules or policy and any incident pertaining to the crime, damage and misuse of university resources or assets.

The Investigations section conducts investigation when there are allegations of crime, misuse of university resources or assets either on or off the premises of the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
