Parking
Student vehicle entry permits are issued from the ID Card Offices and are valid for the year of study. All students who wish to enter and/or park their vehicles on any of the UKZN campuses, are required to have a vehicle entry permit for their vehicle.Permits are colour-coded for easy identification and must be displayed on the vehicle’s windscreen when entering campus.
Application Requirements:
- Completed registration
- A valid UKZN Student Card
- Active AD login credentials
Parking Fees:
Please note that there are costs associated with the permit (outlined below) and this amount will be posted to your Student Fee Account.(PLEASE DO NOT PAY THIS FEE AT THE CASHIERS)
Full Time Student
- Single Semester – R140
- Two Semesters – R275
Part Time Student
- Single Semester – R90
- Two Semesters – R180
Important Information
- A maximum of two (2) vehicles may be registered on a single permit. The permit is only transferable between the two registered vehicles.
- VEPs are non-transferable between individuals.
- Copying or reproducing a UKZN VEP by any means is considered fraud and is a punishable offence.
- Altering VEP information in any way is strictly prohibited.
- VEPs are only issued to students with valid UKZN ID Cards.
- Replacement Fees: A fee of R80.00 applies for lost or damaged permits. However, if a vehicle is stolen and reported to SAPS, the fee is waived upon presentation of a valid SAPS case number.
Vehicle Changes (Add / Remove)
- Any changes to vehicle details (registration number, new vehicle, etc.) must be made by applying in person at the ID Card Office.
- Staff must complete a Vehicle Change Form and attach their existing VEP when submitting.
